The 15 best hotels in St. Augustine
The USA Traveler ranks the best hotels in St. Augustine based on industry awards, hotel star ratings, and user ratings. Gold badges are awarded to hotels that score in the top 10 percent of the Best Hotels in the USA. The hotels that appear after the ranked hotels are sorted by hotel class and user rating.
The Collection Inn
The Collector Inn is a favorite of history buffs. Its location on the former site of the Dow Museum of Historic Houses, a 1-acre plot in St. Augustine, Florida, composed of nine homes dating back to 1790, explains their enthusiasm.
Guests can learn more about the property’s history on a free walking tour offered three times a week, which previous guests highly recommend. In addition to its unique historical features, including coquina walls, fireplaces, and refurbished hardwood floors, the Collector Inn isn’t stuck in time.
The hotel features an outdoor heated pool, Wi-Fi (the $35 daily resort fee), and an iPad. In addition to kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, bedside charging stations, and rainfall showerheads.
Although some recent visitors found the accommodations to be too small (rooms start at 216 square feet), others appreciated the modern design of each room. While the hotel does not have a restaurant on-site, it offers complimentary continental breakfast each morning and is home to The Well Bar, a lounge built in St. Augustine’s first two-car garage. If you are hungry, you can walk to Old Town or hop on one of the hotel’s loaner bikes.

Their rooms were spacious and clean, according to recent visitors. There are also amenities like flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi in every accommodation. Casa Monica’s historical feel delights guests as well as its convenient location within walking distance of Flagler College and the Historic District’s shops, restaurants, and museums. The courtyard is also visible from some guest rooms and suites. There is no on-site restaurant, but a complimentary breakfast is served each morning. In addition to the courtyard with a fountain, there is a retail plaza, pet-friendly rooms, and self-parking (though it costs extra). However, the true highlights of this hotel were the clean, well-appointed rooms, the outstanding customer service, and its central location.
